IP PBX FAQ

Can I use 3G with the IPPBX for Calls?

Yes, it is possible to use 3G for VoIP calls. The number of simultaneously calls that could be made would very much depend on the bandwidth that the 3G connection provides, but technically there isn't anything that would inherently prevent VoIP working over 3G

Some 3G operators are known to block VoIP specifically (For example t-mobile) but we've tested successfully with Vodafone and Orange both on contract and PAYG tariffs

As the VigorIPPBX 2820 supports two WAN connections, the WAN2 port could be configured for 3G and act as a backup connection for an ADSL connection. Allowing calls to still be made in event of an ADSL connection failure

The WAN2 port on the VigorIPPBX 2820 can be configured as either 3G or Ethernet
