No tone was created by asimov
Hi,

I own a Vigor 2820Vn for years. I am very satisfied. I have the same VOIP provider also for years and recently my phone stopped working (no tone). Few info:
- The router VoIP/SIP Accounts menu shows that I'm registered
- Every incoming calls make the Phone1 light blink on the front of the router
- The inside of the Phone 1 inlet doesn't show damage
- I tested the phone elsewhere and it's working
- I updated the router with the new firmware

Even tough, there's no tone on the phone! Is there something I'm missing? Could only the inlet of the router be broken? Could I switch to the "Line" inlet that I don't use?

Thank you for your help!

Which firmware version do you have installed, and have you recently upgraded to a new version?

Even if 2820Vn model wasn't concerned with the security problem back in May, I upgraded after that email. Not sure what was the firmware number. I won't help saying that I don't remember if I used the phone afterward. I don't use it quite often.
One thing I'm sure is that, since, I tried 3.7.2 (.all) and it didn't work. I also tried afterward 3.3.7.9 (.all) and it didn't do it as well.
Is it worth if to try upgrading firmware with the .rst file?

OK I know this sounds really basic, but:-

1) Do you have "Ring Ports" ticked in VOIP >> SIP Accounts?

2) Do you have a region set in VOIP >> Phone Settings >> Advanced?

3) Are the TONE fields populated in VOIP >> Phone Settings >> Advanced?

John.

I upgraded the the router with the last firmware (3.7.2), this time using .rst file. Still no tone... any other idea? Could it be a firmware bug?
Thanks.
