2850 remote management from WAN was created by wilsodg
Just bought a 2850 to replace my 2910 that has taken to re-booting all the time. Had vigor for 10+ years (familiar with them).
Wanted to set the new box up whilst still have the old setup active, so decided to plug the WAN port of the new box into a switch on the existing LAN. Setup the 2850 to allow remote management but cannot seem to access the router via the WAN port. The 2850 is assigned a local ( LAN) ip address (192.168.1.89) and I can see it on the old router, and if I connect locally to the new router that all lines up, but when I try to access the router by keying ip address into browser (on PC connected to old LAN), I get nothing. Also cannot ping it (despite enabling ping on the management page).
Any ideas appreciated.
