WAN SysLog interpretation was created by gm268
Hello all
I am trying to work out whether I've set up my 2860n correctly for BT infinity 2 (via XILO). I notice in the WAN Syslog there are entries being made every couple of secons as follows:
WAN1 PPPoE <== Protocol:LCP(c021) EchoReq Identifier:0x42Magic Number: 0x2a53 20 61 00 00 00 00 ##
WAN1 PPPoE ==> Protocol:LCP(c021) EchoRep Identifier:0x42Magic Number: 0x0 00 00 00 00 00 00 ##
WAN1 PPPoE <== Protocol:IPv6CP(8057) ConfReq Identifier:0x19 Interface Identifier: ae f2 c5 ff fe b7 9f 00 ##
WAN1 PPPoE <== Protocol:IPv6CP(8057) ConfReq Identifier:0x1A Interface Identifier: ae f2 c5 ff fe b7 9f 00 ##
WAN1 PPPoE <== Protocol:IPv6CP(8057) ConfReq Identifier:0x1B Interface Identifier: ae f2 c5 ff fe b7 9f 00 ##
WAN1 PPPoE <== Protocol:IPv6CP(8057) ConfReq Identifier:0x1C Interface Identifier: ae f2 c5 ff fe b7 9f 00 ##
WAN1 PPPoE <== Protocol:LCP(c021) EchoReq Identifier:0x43Magic Number: 0x2a53 20 61 00 00 00 00 ##
WAN1 PPPoE ==> Protocol:LCP(c021) EchoRep Identifier:0x43Magic Number: 0x0 00 00 00 00 00 00 ##
WAN1 PPPoE <== Protocol:IPv6CP(8057) ConfReq Identifier:0x1D Interface Identifier: ae f2 c5 ff fe b7 9f 00 ##
WAN1 PPPoE <== Protocol:IPv6CP(8057) ConfReq Identifier:0x1E Interface Identifier: ae f2 c5 ff fe b7 9f 00 ##
WAN1 PPPoE <== Protocol:IPv6CP(8057) ConfReq Identifier:0x1F Interface Identifier: ae f2 c5 ff fe b7 9f 00 ##
etc. etc. etc.
I have a fixed (v4) IP address so I'm not sure what the IPv6 flags really mean. Can anyone interpret for me? Is this normal, or have I failed to set things up properly?
Thanks for any help!
