Having bricked my 2860n+ a few times, I found that recovery only seems to work on Windows XP with the firmware update tool.
The same firmware update tool did not work on Windows 8.1, nor did the tftp instructions on Mac / Linux (or Windows for that matter).
Unfortunately, Draytek does not supply any software for Mac or Linux.
