Data Flow Monitor Sessions was created by mfxsystems
Hi,

Can anyone explain to me what the sessions column in Data Flow Monitor is displaying to us? we have a few devices that have a lot more sessions than others.

What would happen if we were to apply a sessions limit under bandwidth management?

Thanks

Hi there mfxsystems,
You don't mention which router this is, but you need to have a look at the "NAT Sessions Table" tab to get more specifics about what a particular device is up to.
This will give you more useful information about the ports the devices are using, then you can make a decision about applying a sessions limit.
If you DO apply a sessions limit to a device, once that device hits the limit, it won't be able to create a NEW session, if you are logged on to the device and using a web page, you'll actually get a "reached the number of sessions limit" message.
Obviously, you won't get to see that if you aren't on the particular device, so you need to find out what is actually going on first.
Cheers
Simon
