LAN to LAN - Vigor2820VG and Vigor2800VG was created by uk_sonics
Hi, got a bit of a problem, would appreciate some help.

I have two routers configured for PPTP LAN to LAN connection.

If the call direction is set to Dial Out or Dial In everything works as expected.
If the call direction is set to Both then a connection is established, servers can be broused etc BUT after a while two VPN connections appear in Connections Management and I loose my VPN connection to the other site and internet access is also lost.

Any one have had the same problem and can offer a fix?

John

If you have a permanently alive VPN connection, the obvious thing to do is to set one end to dial-in and the other to dial-out!

I have also seen reports of unreliability with IPSec VPN's when the routers are set to Both. Perhaps this is the same issue.

BTW, IPSec is more secure and generally preferred for LAN-LAN VPN's.
