Support Technician (In House)

Job Type : Permanent, Full Time (39 hour week, M-F)

Location : Borehamwood, Hertfordshire (WD6 1GW)

This role is within our technical support department, assisting our customers with using and getting the most from their DrayTek networking products - routers, switching, wireless and other products. You'll support customers on the phone and by email, so excellent communication skills are important. You'll also be very hands on with our products, testing customer setups and scenarios to provide them with the best support.

The ideal candidate will have the following skill set, but the right candidate may have more or less.

  • Experience and good knowledge of networking - using switches, routers, WiFi devices, network cabling and infrastructure (essential)
  • An understanding of TCPIP concepts, subnets and web operations (essential)
  • A keen eye for detail and good diagnostic skills.
  • Patience with users of all different technical ability
  • An interest in learning and growing your own skill set
  • Good written communication skills - your written emails need to be concise and clear
  • The ability to work as a team but also motivated under your own steam
  • Good English grammar and spelling
  • A good knowledge of Windows, MacOS and Linux networking
  • Mobile devices (ipad, tablets, phones)
  • A customer-focussed attitude
  • Have an organised and structured approach to tasks
  • Eligibility to work permanently/full time in the UK/EU
  • Want to work in a happy, productive team and assisting other colleagues and other departments whenever needed.
  • Be reliable, punctual and have a good work record

Salary is dependent on experience and depending if you are a level 1 or 2 technician.
