Sip registration logging? was created by unixpro
Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to setup my free Plus talk account on my new vigor 2820vn. I've entered all the details plusnet sent me but cannot register on the sip server.

I've tried the following telnet command:
voip debug show

and it just says "no message available"

Is there any way I can enable debugging for sip registration?

Could it be that I have enabled syslog to go to my linux server so the debug messages are getting "relayed" as such before they hit this debug buffer?

Many thanks
Peter Hubberstey.

Are you using the old or new plusnet sip account?

Not sure if the new style is out of beta yet.

think it's the new one.

To be honest, I was sent an email from plusnet saying the new service was up and running and I had to "activate" my new account - which I obviously did.

Plusnet Email as follows:

Your account details

Control Panel: http://voip.plus.net
- Use your registered email address, and the password below to login.

Your Broadband Phone account type: Broadband Phone 240
Your phone number: 01772 9nnnnn
Your SIP ID: 882nnnn
Your user name: 882nnnn
Your SIP password: ________
Your voicemail pin code: nnnn

Basic server settings

Your SIP domain: sip2.plus.net
Your SIP proxy: nat.plus.net:5082

I think this is the new service. It is possible that I've translated the generic server info into the wrong boxes on the voip page of the router?

I have:
Profile name: Plusnet 240
Register Via: Auto
SIP port: 5060
Domain/Realm: sip2.plus.net
Proxy: nat.plus.net:5082
Act as outbound proxy: Ticked
Display Name: Peter
Account Number: 882nnnn
Authentication ID: Ticked
Authentication ID box: 882nnnn
Password: _______
Expiry Time: 1 hour
NAT traveral support: none

Does that look correct?

Firmware is 3.2.1_RC2

I don't have access to my VPN client at the moment so I can't check your settings against mine. I know when I changed to the new plusnet proveder (gradwell) there was something I had to change that was not obvious, but I've forgotten what.

If you reply to this message sometime tomorrow it will remind me to go check my settings.

I did have access, (this hotel allows my VPN traffic to pass, I forgot where I was!) so I compared and your settings are the same as mine, except I have 1 day expiry time, and I'm using sipgate's STUN server.

I take it you have no ringtone on the handset, and no "R" to say registration has happened?
