Hi Lee

No luck I'm sorry to say.

Forwarding external calls still doesn't happen. Draytel did mention last week that it may be their problem.

Arghhhh. Very frustrating.

Thanks Tim

Hi Tim,

Are you trying to transfer an incoming PSTN call, ISDN call or SIP call?

Hi Lee
The call is an inbound PSTN call intercepted by Draytel and routed via the SIP trunk to the IPPBX2820.

The call can be picked up but transferring it to another extension kills the call when the extension picks it up. As a point of interest the hold music the inbound PSTN customer hears is the Draytel music.

Cheers
Tim

Hi Tim,

That explains the problem then!

The analogue ports on the IPPBX 2820 cannot act as part of the IPPBX system and it was never meant to either!

The analogue phone port's primary purpose is used to connect an analogue phone to the IPPBX 2820 to act as an extention only! It's secondary purpose is for recording the user prompts on the IVR system.

Whilst the analogue line port's one and only purpose is for PSTN failover for the analogue phone port i.e when the internet connection fails on the IPPBX 2820 the analogue phone connected to the analogue line port can still make and receive calls via the PSTN.

This is because there is currently no PSTN pass through on the IP PBX 2820 (Draytek have never said that it would provide PSTN pass through out of the box, however they have not ruled out including this as a feature in a future firmware update) so while the It can accept incoming calls from the PSTN to the analogue phone but it does not currently act as part of the IP PBX system and thus why it is not available as a line setting to route incoming/outgoing calls for the IPPBX 2820.

The only pass through available is via the ISDN ports and currently there is an issue where you can only use ISDN2-TE for this as ISDN1-TE has a problem routing calls when set in the TE mode (Draytek are aware of this bug and are working on fixing the issue).

I hope this helps to answer your current problem and whilst there is no fix for this at present it is only because the feature is not currently available on the firmware for the IPPBX 2820.

Hi Lee

Sorry I didn't explain myself very well.

The PSTN call is not coming to the analoge port of the IPPBX2820.

Draytel act as our telecom supplier for both fixed and SIP connection. Draytel have mapped the standard inbound / outbound number to our DrayTel SIP account, which is then sent to our IPPBX as a VoIP call. So as far as the IPPBX should see it, it should be just a standard VoIP call not a PSTN call. Therefore intheory we should be able to transfer the SIP call, but can't.

Cheers

Tim

Hi Tim,

Does the call terminate completely for the called party or are they still left on hold?

Are you using VigorPhone 350's, if so what firmware are you using and is the firmware the same on both phones.

Have you tried upgrading the firmware on the phones?
