2820Vn - Apply a name or Identifier.... was created by garysteel
It would be beneficial to be able to attched a name to:-
a. MAC Addresses in the WLAN Filter list
b. and in the Bind IP to MAC
I'm not too familiar with what MAC code belongs to what piece of kit but a name next to it would be great!!!

I agree. It would also allow local dns addressing, so you could access internal machines using their name rather than their IP.
Looking through the list of Telnet commands it seems that earlier routers were able to do this using the "srv dhcp fixip Host <hostname> <MAC-address>" command. Unfortunately this has been replaced by the "ip bindmac" command in the 2820 series and it doesn't have a functional equivalent to the Host command. Hopefully a future firmware release will return the function.
At least the router itself allows you to set a name and domain by using the "sys name wanX <name>" and "sys domainname wanX <domain.tld>" commands.

This would be a great help.
Either for the Soho or small business. You could insert a nice friendly name (Wifes Laptop) or an asset number (SKC002003) for that piece of kit.
So please add sooner rather than later.
