Draytek 2820N Remote desktop connection lost was created by viper8
HI,
I have just installed a 2820N for a customer and enable RDP port 3389 to an internal IP. The draytek has firmware 3.3.0.
From the outside I can RDP straight onto the server no problems there. For some reason the remote desktop screen keeps freezing every few minutes. It then reconnects back after 30secs or so.
This is the second Draytek 2820 i have installed and both do the exact same thing. I know the router and server are online. I am pinging the router and got a telnet session open to the server. They dont drop whilst the RDP screen is frozen.
Is there a firewall setting that is causing this issue?
thanks

I'm having exactly the same issue - did you find any answers to this one?
Port redirecting 3389 to internal Terminal Server. Logs in but often I click on the screen to do something the connection is momentarily dropped and then reconnects - usually discarding the last thing I clicked on.
Could this be to do with having content filtering enabled?

I have the very same issue with a number of sites, DOS filters on or off make no difference, I found that if I use any other filters outside the default firewall ones this causes the drops in RDP and PC anywhere incoming connections.
Have not found work around yet going to apply latest firmware and see if this helps. Currently on 3.30

Had a similar problem.
In Firewall > General Setup, ensure IM/P2P Filter is set to none.
