Hi,

Purchased two of these for a client a couple of weeks back. I have immediately discovered two major bugs in the latest firmware:

1. When using trunked VLANS DNS resolution becomes sporadic and mostly fails. The behaviour does not manifest if I use port based VLAN and multiple uplink cables to the switch.
2. Windows XP machines drop out of the ARP cache of the router randomly and lose connectivity with the router.

I have called support and been asked to file a report along with a sample config. I wanted to post this because I didn't want other people to have to go through the pain of trying to diagnose this issue. My advice would be not to roll out these routers until these problems are fixed! Would be interested to hear if anyone else is using these and if they are getting problems too.

We have rolled out many 2830s with trunks VLANs and not hit the issue, hopefully its isolated to just the 2860

It appears to be 2860's only, the 2850 doesn't seem to suffer this although it did have a similar issue with trunked VLANS and wireless where the wireless network could not communicate with the wired network even though it was on the same VLAN, that was solved by a Beta firmware sent to me.

Today there is a new firmware out ... not addressed what fixed but if some one want to give a go is here
