User Password Help was created by damiano70
Hello to all,
kindly someone help me to understand why even setting correctly "System Maintenance >> User Password" on Router Vigor 2865 FW 4.2.0.1 does not work?
Besides inserting the pswd on this page what else should I do?

Thank you in advance,
Damiano

You simply enter the old password ( default is admin) > enter new password > confirm password and click "OK" .

If you are trying to use any "illegal" characters it will fail.

Note: Password can contain only a-z A-Z 0-9 , ; : . " < > * + = \ | ? @ # ^ ! ( )

Hello and thanks for the reply,
I am not referring to admin -> System Maintenance >> Administrator Password Setup
I am referring to user -> System Maintenance >> User Password

It is only possible to insert the "user" pswd, but it is not clear how to activate the user and access via the web via the user, probably in addition to inserting the user pswd in this screen it is necessary to make other settings that are not indicated in the manual.

I think you must be the only person I've ever heard of who wanted to activate "User Mode"

If you enter a user password and then logout, try logging back in with admin as user and the new password.....

I took them all believe me, even what you told me,
in my opinion it is useful, as you create a user with reduced rights so that the customer cannot do any damage.
If you have the time and chance, try setting that thing up yourself.

Hmm - you're right. It doesn't seem to work. My apologies for accepting Draytek's directions at face value...
