2927ax hardware acceleration not working

2927ax hardware acceleration not working was created by markhawkin
I followed the instructions to enable hardware acceleration and if anything it makes the throughput lower.

I see roughly 700Mb/s download (I’ve tried a couple of computers and two at the same time) and whatever I do this seems to be the maximum throughput. 1Gb/s service so I might expect 940Mb/s on the 2927ax with hardware acceleration enabled.

Firmware 4.4.5

Ethernet connected computers. During a speed test the Draytek shows 88% cpu.

In practice not a problem, but the hardware acceleration should work!

Thanks for the suggestions

I had a look at the thread and rewatched the video and nothing leaps out.

Doing ppa -v gives

%PPA is enabled
%PPA NAT is enabled
% PPA mode is Manual (traffic)
%PPA Protocol TCP 1, UDP 1
%PPA WLAN to LAN is enabled
%PPA WLAN to WAN is enabled
%PPA Multicast is enabled
%PPA IPSec is disabled
%PPA IPSec Protocol TCP disabled
%PPA IPSec Protocol UDP disabled
%PPA two way enable
%PPA time is 10
%PPA range is 8000
%PAE range is 2048
%MPE range is 5952
%PPA LAN entries 0, working 0
%PPA WAN entries 0, working 0
%PPA statistics interval: 5 sec

Clearly the LAN entries being 0 could be a clue.

I tried a firmware downgrade to 4.4.3.1 and that has made no difference.

I've a few VLANS but the test PC is in VLAN0 and that's untagged. Most devices have reserved IP addresses other than that and the required WAN configuration most stuff is as the router default settings.

What results do you get for:

ppa -x

Also, have you tried bypassing the DrayTek router all together, and doing a speed test directly connected to the ISP's device?

I have a colleague with a 2927ax on a Sky 1Gb service with hardware acceleration enabled - he does get the 940Mbps (or so) - so it is possible...

I agree, as I too have 2927ax's on Virgin 1Gb lines (including dual-WAN) reaching 940Mbps per line as well (and over 940 via split load-balancing available to the entire site).
