Some web sites inaccessible was created by ulysses888
I have a 2865Lac but can't put it into service as some websites can't be reached either by browser or pinging IP address (pinging from Draytek itself or PCs on LAN). Sites like Amazon, Microsoft, Google etc are fine.
The firewall is not enabled - in any case there are no rules in it.
WAN DNS set to 8.8.8.8.
Syslog shows IP address access but no other info.

Another router (TP Link) using same WAN has no problem reaching any site.

Grateful for any pointers

Hi ulysses,
Have you checked the setting 'Force router to use "DNS server IP address' settings specified in LAN*"?

What does your router report as the Primary and Secondary DNS under Online Status > Physical Connection?

Thanks, I hadn't done that.
I haven't yet worked out how to insert an image here, but before I did what you suggested the Router DNS was displaying 194.168.4.123 in Physical Connection - which was wrong and I hadn't noticed.
After I did your suggested change it shows 1.1.1.1. &  8.8.8.8 which is correct..
No immediate change seen, so I rebooted - but still the same issue.

But thank you for the suggestion. Maybe a step closer ....

Hi ulysses888,

Try setting up your affected computer with static DNS, e.g.

Settings used on the router should not really impact the DNS resolution on a local client. DO remember to clear the browser cache, DNS cache, and reboot the PC once new DNS settings are applied. Then test. This should work.

Also check for any erroneous entries under Applications > LAN DNS / DNS Forwarding
