ExpiredIPVanish: How to connect a DrayTek VPN router with L2TP over IPsec
This article demonstrates how to setup an L2TP over IPsec VPN tunnel, from a DrayTek Vigor router to an IPVanish VPN account. Once configured and connected, this will allow all users connected to the router to utilise the VPN tunnel.
1. Login to your IPVanish account from here to obtain a list of servers in your region.
2. Log into the Vigor router's management page.
Go to [VPN and Remote Access] > [LAN to LAN], edit a profile as follows:
- Enter Profile name
- Check Enable this profile
- Set Call Direction to "Dial-Out".
- Enable "L2TP" and set IPsec Policy to "Must", in the Dial-out settings
- Enter Server IP as the domain name obtained in step 1
- Enter Username (Type your registered IPVanish username)
- Enter Password (Type your registered IPVanish password)
- Type ''ipvanish" under IKE Pre-Shared Key
- Change Routing to NAT for this VPN connection
- (optional) Enable Change Default Route to this VPN tunnel option if you want all traffic to go through IPvanish VPN.
3. After finishing the above settings, we can check the VPN status via [VPN and Remote Access] > [Connection Management] page.
