Sky On Demand - downloads not starting was created by jayworm
Hi all,
I have a Vigor 2860n-plus with Sky Fiber. I have had my setup working for sometime now, but recently I have noticed that I can no longer download from Sky's On Demand service.
On the Sky box, under network setting, I see everything is ok. I can browse all the On Demand content. But once I select a program to download nothing is downloaded. All That happens is 'Starting download' appers at the top right of the screen, and the download never starts.
If I connect the Sky hub (SC102), the downloads starts. If I then switch back to my Draytek part way through the transfer, the download resumes and completes successfully.
Has anyone else had this, or does anyone have any advise?
Regards,
Jason

Hi all,
Managed to partially resolve this. Work around below:
Firewall --> General Setup
Disable Data Filter
Not sure how much protection I have lost doing this. So time to read up on filter set#2.
Regards
Jason.

I have exactly the same issue on my 2860 running v3.7.8. What's interesting is that I have the Sky fibre connection on WAN1 and a Zen Fibre on WAN2. Sky's On demand service works fine via the Zen connection, but if I switch it over to Sky then it connects to On Demand ok, but as you say it's unable to starting downloading anything. If I switch the Load balancer back to WAN2 then it works as expected. So it seems that its the combination of Sky's fibre connection and the Draytek firewall that's affecting the ability to download. This did used to work for me (around December) so I'm thinking something introduced into the latest firmware has broken it...?

I also had this problem on a DrayTek 2760n with downloads not starting.
After disabling "Hardware Acceleration" the problem went away.

Hi,
I managed to get this working a few years back, just wanted to post my change.
Open port 3700 TCP/UDP.
I also have hardware acceleration on, and my firewall is active.
Regards,
Jason
