AP900 wireless connection to Draytek 2860 was created by pam clarkson
Hi, would appreciate some sort of idiot guide to achieving something. I have a client who has a 2860 router in the basement and wants to use the 2 x ap900's to boost the wifi signal around the building. problem is there is no facility to use a hard wired solution and I know its possible to get the ap900 to wirelessly connect to the 2860 but try as I might I cant do it. The 2860 finds the AP900 on scanning but there is no connection. The manual has a bit of a loop in it which doesnt give enough detail on how to achieve this. Could someone give me an idiot walk through please. Thanks in advance. Pam

I don't think the V2860 wants to find the AP900...it's the other way round, and the AP900
needs to be put into ADS or universal repeater mode... Ask support.

yes, the AP needs to be in repeater mode - it then connected to the Wifi from the 2860 and then transmits its own SSID for the clients

Have you thought about using powerline adapters to link everything together?
Would be a lot faster and more reliable than using repeater mode.
