Is there a quick way establishing whether my VDSL provider needs a password? My hardware provider set the router and repeater up before delivery so that I could simply plug n' play. My broadband connection is operating but peripherals refuse to reliably connect on WiFi, so I am going for a factory reset on my Vigor2862 and this info is required first.

I am unable to reach my provider at present.Thanks in anticipation!

Might help if you say who your provider is. Can also ask for help in the TBB forums.
