linux based syslog server was created by icarusbop
Hello
I have a 2860, but realistically the router model is moot.
I have recently switched my home server from Ms-Server 2012 to Linux and am missing the Syslog utility for my router.
I have pointed the router to my Linux machine and can see the data coming in it I do a TCP dump, but a lot of the received data is in Hex only so it's pretty useless.
Can anyone recommend a Linux console based utility that can read all the log data and present it in a readable format please?
Thanks
Ian

Any reason why you wouldn't want to use syslogd and allow remote servers to log to it?
