The SIP/Server address needs to be the public IP address of your PBX.

hi rich,

I think this can only be currently achieved using over a VPN connection.

I have this working using the public IP address of the IPPBX. But I did have trouble with some home routers, Netgear especially, blocking the remote handsets outbound traffic (remote user could hear the calling party but the calling party could not hear the remote handset).

In the end I had to update the firmware of the Netgear router, but it's not perfect.

hi timbelfall,

did you need to open up any additional ports or use stun/proxy server settings to achieve that?

Hi,

I didn't use a STUN server, though I looked at doing this. The major problem was the router at the remote side. Netgear had to have a firmware upgrade and the SIP passthrough setting checked. The Dlink's I have were not a problem.

Regards

Tim
