IPPBX FXS port wiring was created by d3matt
What's the pinout of the RJ11 connectors on the FXS analogue ports?
I assume the pot phone (pins 2 & 5) connect to the middle pins on the RJ11.
Also, what phone socket should the analogue extensions have - 3A secondary or 2A PBX master? I assume, PBX master.
Can anyone confirm?

Yes, centre two pins of the RJ111, and yes, PBX master.

This topic was most helpful in enabling me to make a lead to connect my phone into the FXS (phone) socket of the Vigor. It works, but doesn't ring on incoming calls. Would I be correct in thinking it needs to be 'connected through' a Master socket in order for the connected phone to actually ring?
Is there no other way to enable this without having to introduce such additional hardware? All I want is to be able to plug a phone into that port and for it to work and ring when called. Is that really too much to ask?

The unit comes with RJ11-BT adaptors, which are 'masters' so will ring phones. If you wish to wire in your own wiring then you need to use a master socket.

Hmmm, can't find the adapters. I thought it might have included them, but looks like someone's had them away:-(
I have suitable sockets, but in this instance an in-line adapter would be better. Readily available though so I'll get hold of one from somewhere.
Thanks for the confirmation.
