Auto-attendant direct to voicemail? was created by roundst
Hi,
I've set up the out-of hours auto-attendant to make an announcement informing callers of office hours. If they still wish to leave a message, to press 0.
This then rings the extension (200) and then on to the hunt group, before going to voicemail.
Is there a way to direct the option direct to the voicemail instead of going via the extension?
Thanks
C

Can't you just have an extension which always goes to voicemail ?

I have this issue as well. The problem is that you want a call to go call an extention during the day but after normal work hours you force customers to leave a messge. However, you can't use another extension because you want the employee comming to work the next day to see they have messages waiting (in the usual way) on their phone so they can deal with them (without having to do anything new or different).

I have the user whos extension you want to go to voicemail put their handset on "Do Not Disturb" when they leave the office.
That way you can programme the auto attendant to to go straight to this users extension and it will go to their voicemail out of hours.
That user will then come in, in the morning and have voicemail messages. They just need to remember to turn Do Not Disturb off when they come in, in the morning

As a thought, can you set up an extension on your system that isn't real - so by pressing 0 you are put through to extension (say) 599, which then immediately diverts to the voicemail of the extension you want the message left on?
