Draytek 2830 bad voice quality was created by groen692
I have the phenomenon that the voip quality on my draytek 2830vn is getting worse after a few days of operation. after a reboot everything is ok again.
I do not use the pots on the draytek. I forwarded the corresponding (sip) port to a ip-pbx/ip-phone.

At first everything is working fine. then over time (a few days of uptime for the draytek)
the voice start the degrading which sounds like dropped packets. after this stage the problem becomes one way speech.
a reboot of the draytek and everything sounds perfect again.

Any idea's on this?

Model Name : Vigor2830Vn
Firmware Version : 3.3.6.1db_232201

Jeroen

Have you applied QoS?

We see similar issues with VoIP phone registration. The phones will stay registered for a few days, then unable to register. A reboot of 2830 will fix the issue. Didnt see the issue with the 2800 that the 2830 replaced. We also notice the 2830 will slow down over time, again a reboot clears. My guess is the 2830 is keeping sessions open (stale sessions?), which is possibly leading to a memory leak, hence the slow down.

A 'hack' is to schedule a reboot in the early hours of the morning. Not ideal, but should improve VoIP reliability

I did schedule a reboot in the morning, but this is not why I bought a Draytek. Is this board being read by draytek enigers and do they pick problems like this up to solve them in a real way?
Or should I get paid support to get a bug fixed?

I'm not sure if they read this or not...
I just raise a ticket on the support email page if I need assistance:

http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/techquery.html

I think they use this forum so that users help users and so that they dont get bothered with Technical queries... Seems that way anyways.
