Transfer call fails to Linksys SPA 921 IP Phone

I recently has an issue with a client and I thought id share the fix with the forums.

Site Set-up:

Draytek 2820 IP PBX
Mixture of Draytek 350 and Linksys SPA921 handsets.
ISDN only

Issue:

When attempting to transfer a call the transfer would appear to complete but the end recipient only got silence and the caller was cut off or greeted with the same silence.

Resolution:

The issue is not with the Draytek equipment. The linksys phones have a setting on them by default that forces them to use the preferred codec only.

1. To fix this issue go to the webpage of the phone (you can get the IP address from the IP PBX - PBX Status - extension monitor on the Draytek 2820)
click on Admin login (Top right)
2. Now click on EXT1 (its on the tab bar running along the top of the page)
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and change the "Use preferred codec only" to NO
4. Click on submit all changes

This resolved my issues immediately. I had to make this slight change to ever linksys phone on the site.
