Remote Voicemail was created by boaber22
Had anyone had any joy setting this new feature up?
It asks you to specify a remote voicemail number but what number do you enter here? MSN? Do you have to have a USB stick inserted for remote voicemail to work?
Basically we have a spare DDI/MSN number in our range and would like to allocate this to remote voicemail so users can call in when they are out of the office to check their voicemail messages.

OK so the guy on the PBX support line could not explain to me how the remote access voicemail feature works!
He said it "wasnt supported", whats the point of adding this feature if its not supported????
Please can anyone explain how this works as this was one of the main reasons we bought the ippbx 2820

Hi,
Try this :
- setup a Remote VoiceMail extension number : ex : "889"
- go to ISDN Settings and create a ISDN index with your desired MSN for remote voice mail
- in this same ISDN index, setup Answer Mode to "Auto Attendant" for Office/Non-Office hours
- now, remotely dial your previous MSN number, you should ear IPPBX AA message, while earing this, dial your Remote VoiceMail extension number : "889"
- now just press what extension number you like to ear VoiceMail and the respective password.
Hope this helps,
regards,
rj

Hi RJ,
Thanks for the Help, I tried the methods you suggested but ufortunately when you are prompted with "If you know your party's extension, please enter it now" and then press "889" for the remote voicemail, it just repeats this prompt and doesnt connect. This method makes sense though and surely should work.
Let me know if anyone else reading this has any other suggestions.

Correction,
This does look like it works, when you call the line and get the "If you know your party's extension, blah blah" then hit "889" it says the same thing again but then here if you type in an existingl extension number here it then asks you for that extensions voicemail password and then takes you onto the voicemail inbox.
The confusion comes from when it asks you the same thing again in the Auto Attendant for the extension, theres no indication that this is you now at the remote voicemail menu after you've punched in 889.
A happy chappy
Thanks for the help RJ
