Soft Phone unable to detect sound card!

I have recently installed a PBX3510 and a couple of Vigorphone 350's and all is working well.

I have installed Softphone onto a couple of laptops - the first has worked without any problems, but on the second laptop, SoftPhone pops up a message stating that no sound card was found. I have checked in device manager, sound card is most definitely present and the drivers are completely up to date. As soon as you click 'ok' on the message box, SoftPhone closes!! (There are no other options but to click the 'ok')

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Had this on a desk top on a domain
used local administrator user account to reinstall ok
