SIP ALG? was created by bluefox
Can anybody help?
Calls to my SIP provider are being rejected as I am inserting my private IP address into the SIP header rather than the public. There is no way for me to change this on my SIP device so I was hoping that my 2830n would be able to do it for me. Is that what SIP ALG is? If so, it's currently enabled on my router but I still cannot make any external calls via SIP.
Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree so if anyone has any other ideas or methods, I'm all ears.
Many thanks in advance.

Yep, SIP ALG fixes the SIP packets so they've got the public IP.
On that router, it's not enabled by default and can only be enabled through telnet, in there you would enter
sys sip alg ?
to check the current setting
"sys sip alg 0" to disable
"sys sip alg 1" to enable

Thanks for your reply. I've tried that already but it still does not work.
Interestingly enough, I replaced the 2820n with another brand of home router and it works. Makes me wonder whether SIP ALG is broken in Drayteks firmware.

Well, it might just be, right now. I'm waiting to see what Draytek support say, since I've seen SIP ALG do some not right things
