Random Calls was created by weehappypixie
Hi,

I have a DrayTek Vigor Phone 350 connected to a DrayTek Vigor 2860n. The phone has a DrayTel account in it.

Over the past 3 weeks I am getting bombarded with calls with random caller ID's and I have to constantly keep pressing reject to stop the phone ringing. Both lines ring. The calls look like they are direct IP based calls rather than coming in through DrayTel SIP.

I've contacted DrayTel who carried out an investigation and said the calls were not coming through there network and suggested they were direct IP calls too.

Looking at the IP's they seem to be Gaza, Syria, Pakistan based.

Is it possible to block all traffic on port 5060 from non UK IP's?

Thanks.

John

It's possible, but you'd need some device with a database of non-UK IP addresses, so probably not very practical. I guess with every new technology, crooks and rogues will think of ways to exploit it, so wardriving VoIP devices is just the latest scam, like double glazing calling regular phone numbers. They may also be scanning for VoIP devices with open admin/no passwords in order to steal call credit/calls.
