Trunks & DialPlan was created by gtpc_ltd
Hi,

You obviously have to have a dialplan in place to route the outgoing calls to the required trunk. the default of '0' Method None, length 7-15 send to trunk1, and , ? method add, area code, length 6, trunk 1.

But currently, where there are 2 trunks (or more), we have had to tell the users on the 2nd trunk to dial 9, this then via the dialplan sends them over trunk 2. And they always have to dial the area code.

Am I missing a trick, can you not just FORCE extensions out over a particular trunk?

Simon.

Actually I have answered my own question, with a bit of time to fiddle.
In the dial plan, you have the option of selecting Default Trunk - which you specify in the extension config.
This allows the same dial plan config, but sends the resulting call out over the extensions 'default' trunk.

Easy...
