Help With Disabling VOIP on 2800VG was created by paulobrien
Hi All
I have a 2800VG which I am trying to host a SIP server behind. If I connect through the VPN directly, it all works OK, but if I connect to the external IP address, I get an error on the phone.
All ports are forwarded to the SIP server, but the SIP traffic seems to be being hijacked by the router itself, and not forwarded.
Is there a way to disable the inbuilt SIP/VOIP on the 2800VG please?
Thanks
Paul

Firstly, apologies I know this post is old but I have a similar issue and was hoping someone could help.
Does anyone know how to turn SIP off on a Draytek 2800VG. I've tried running sys sip_alg 0 at a telnet prompt but that doesn't seem to do anything.
Regards,
Daiablo

just picked up a 2600vgi - thinking it would be the best of all worlds.
After spending a day on this - I finally pinned it down to the RTP ports on the router for self handled voip. These by default handle the normal call spectrum: 10000-20000 or so.
By changing Dynamic RTP port start/end to 9999 the router stops intercepting traffic to my asterisk / trixbox. I also had to change the ports from 5060 to 5059 under SIP Related Functions Setup.
I also ran sys sip_alg 0 in telnet but got no response/feedback and it wasn't until I changed the port settings that it worked.
