Just incase anyone else gets this, I sorted it!
Reloading the firmware (same version 3.3.0 so not an upgrade just a reload) with the rst version then reloading my settings solved the problem. So it must have been something corrupt in there.
My original configuration now works, as do all the other suggestions! thanks for your help guys.

2820 = 3.3.2_RC5
2950 = 3.2.4

glad it worked out in the end. i've had that issue (not with the drayteks) before with wap's, pc's etc and everything looks fine and should run.
you spend days on it banging your head against a wall. do a complete reconfigure and bam! it works!

2820 = 3.3.2_RC5
2950 = 3.2.4
