Hi

We're using a 2600G router with what seems to be the latest firmware i.e. 2.5.9_UK.

The newer operating systems e.g. Vista and Leopard seem to be suffering from random delays especially on DNS, which appear to be caused by IPv6. Even pinging google.com can take a while to 'happen'. In some cases, you can simply turn IPv6 off either in the OS or in Firefox about:config for instance, but it doesn't always seem as simple as that.

In Linux for example you can blacklist the ipv6 module, but this doesn't necessarily resolve the problem. I've still seen wget take ages to resolve DNS, unless the "-4" option is used to force IPv4 only. It's causing quite a headache, as not every app has a "-4" option!

Is this a known problem with this router model, and perhaps fixed in newer models? At work we use a 2800 and it doesn't seem to suffer from the same issue (desite lack of IPv6 "support"), does this sound right?
