QNAP NAS not going to Gigabit speeds was created by coderus
Hi All,
I saw off the forums that I can see the link status and speed the Ethernet connection are by doing via telnet interface

port status

However what I find curious that I have 2 devices on the LAN which are Gigabit capable (my iMac & QNAP TS-109Pro NAS), but they appear differently - Why is this ?

I have tried switching cables just incase there was something wrong with the cables, but that made no difference and also tried switch the order of them in the switch just in case there was some form of setup on the port's which I needed to do ? but doing all this made no difference at all.

The NAS details having a Gigabit Ethernet

http://www.qnap.com/pro_detail_hardware.asp?p_id=79

so slightly confused what going wrong here ?, as the iMac is registering higher which is what I would expect as it has a Gigabit interface, but not NAS ?

Thanks

I think only port 1 is a 1Gb port - the rest are 100mb

Only other thing to check is that the hardware conneccted to port 1 is set for auto, or 1Gb - you might have set it for 100 only.
