Hello everyone.

I have two computers here and NAS, each with gigabit ethernet ports. Is it possible to connect a gigabit switch to the gigabit ethernet port on the draytek 2820Vn to extend its one gigabit port to more than one?

I'm looking at connecting this switch up to the 2820Vn gigabit ethernet port.

yep. go for it. if you have any issues, set the port speeds manually eg 1000 full duplex etc instead of auto.

Thanks for the reply. One thing I forgot to ask. Is it plug and play?

not technically plug and play but you should just be able to use a standard cat5e patch cable and plug it in as that is in the gigabit standard (1000base-T)

if not, you may require a crossover cable. make sure you get the right one as a gigabit (4 pairs crossed) crossover cable is different to a 10/100 cable (2 pairs crossed)
