The default rules for the 2820 seem pretty open, allowing everything except some NetBIOS traffic. Am I correct in thinking that to recreate your stand home router I would need to setup a filter with two rules

LAN > WAN = ALLOW ALL

WAN > LAN = DENY ALL

My only concern then is whether UPnP rules would then poke holes in these rules (as I want them to)?
