Automatic email notifcation on failover? was created by robpomeroy
Hi folks,

I'm trialling a 2820 with a 3G T-Mobile dongle in automatic failover mode (go to 3G if and only if broadband is down). Works beautifully, but there's just one thing I'd like the router to do: email a monitored address when the connection flips.

Had a look through the web interface and manual and can't see anything obvious. The email options send notifcations on DoS or IM-P2P but that's it. Firmware is currently on 3.3.1.2_232201 - does anyone know if such a feature has been introduced in a later firmware?

I suppose my other option is to syslog it and get the syslog server to send an alert, but that would be a lot more awkward to configure.

Any thoughts?

All the best,

Rob

In case anyone else is wondering the same, I received the following response by email from Draytek UK:

Hello,

Thanks for the email.Email alerts is only available for DoS.We could add this to our wish list for future enhancements. At the moment it is not supported.

Regards,

Andrew
