IP Pool Count Question was created by gibletmcshannon
Hello,

If my start IP address is...

04.567.89.2

and id like to maximise fully on IP Pool counts,

whats the highest figure I can put in the IP Pool count box?

is it 97 ?

which would take me up to 04.567.89.99

Thanks in advance

Nigel

Assuming you use a 'standard' private IP range such as 192.168.1.xxx

Then, you would set your start IP at something like 192.168.1.10 (with your router on 1.1)
There are a maximum of 256 IP's in a subnet, although 0 and 255 are reserved, so the max you can go to is 254.
So in the example above, you could in theory set the IP pool count to 245 (10 - 254 inclusive)

Unless you really need huge numbers of addresses, I would set your range to start at perhaps 100 and set a pool size of 100
