Vlan & two IP ranges was created by kudos
Hi

i have two 2800 routers
2800VG is currently connected to the ADSL line
2800V is spare router i wish to try and use

2800VG gives out 192.168.0.0 range
i would like to setup a new network in a Vlan on 192.168.42.0 range using the 2800v

i have set the Vlan port on 2800VG, connected the 2800v to that port but now im unsure how to get the 2800v to route data onto the net through the 2800vg, i throught i might be able to use DHCP on the 2800v for the 192.168.42.0 range

i wish to keep both lans seperate. while sharing the one connection.

thanks for any and all help
rob

This should be possible if you use a subnet of 255.255.0.0 on both routers.

On the 2800V that will be part of the other subnet, enter the 2800VG's IP address in the DHCP Gateway setting. That should be all that you'd need to change.
