Hi Got a Prob!

Got a New Draytek 2820 with the lastest firmware!
I cannot get a Sync!
Although the line is not great there is currently a small netgear on the line with no problems!

I've read on other forums that the modem on this model is not that great and a workaround would be to add a modem through wan2!

Any one else had similar problem that could share with me!

Sorry for repeating thread but I really need answers as I've got 50 2820s on order for my remote sites and not feeling altogether comfortable at the moment :shock:

fwiw I have had similar issue, would try to sync for <1 minute then give up and retrain incessantly, utterly useless ... and like you I have many of these and guess what a Thomson router and a Netgear dg834 straight in no problems.
Support have advised me to try modem code (on www.draytek.com or ftp://ftp.draytek.com) 211801.

one point of note my ever helpful isp (Plusnet Business) found out the DSLAM kit in the exchange was 1st generation Alcatel, maybe you have similar compatibility issue to me.

Please report back to let me know how you get on if you trial this.

Personally I think modem 232201 that ships with recent f/w is badly flawed
In fact none of our lines are as stable as they should be.
