Just recently our broadband line seems to have slowed to a crawl - down to 1.9Mbps from 7Mbps. The 2600G claims a sync speed of 7616000 with a SNR of 10dB which apparently match BT's system perfectly. BT have done line tests and so on and they reckon it's our hardware... the question is, if there's a failure of some sort, would these symptons be exhibited?

After 3 yrs+ (if not more), I'm not after a repair/replacement, I'd just like to know if the 2600G could fail in such a way so as to drop the download speed but not the sync rate.

Cheers guys.

Cant see how. I have a 2600We and its still rocking. I did upgrade to the last firmware update some time ago. I would imagine you more like have a PC full of spyware. Also maybe consider upgrading and if it doesnt help. Send it back ;)

After finally speaking to someone at BT who knew what they were on about, it turns out the IP Profile was all cocked up following a fault and was limiting to 2Mbps.

All now fixed!
