AP700 setup problem was created by drmagwai
hi

i bought an ap700 as a wireless range extender and cannot connect to it at all to configure it.

i tried plugging it into my router as advised but i think the problem is that my router is setup to use a different IP address range and i cannot seem to change it.

the router is a 2800G.

any ideas or pointers appreciated.

no i have no idea what settings to use.

i want to extend the range of my existing wlan. should i set a different ssid for the ap700 or reuse the same one?

Best way is to use identical SSID and security settings and select repeater mode.

thanks, that works great.

is there any merit in using the WDS mode? It looks kind of similar.
