can't log on to 5510 was created by bob123
I've just factory reset our 5510 and upgraded to 3.3.3.2.

I can now only log on to it from the local network and not across any of the VPN's which I used to be able to.

I presume something is ticked that either didn't exist in the previous version of firmware or was changed when I reset.

Any (polite) suggestions gratefully received.

thanks.

Jeff

basically I get a blank page in Firefox.

Internet explorer 7 asks me for the username and password and then says

"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

Are you loging into the unit via IP or hostname? If hostname then try via IP to see if you get the same thing.

Is remote mangement enabled? If not, then as a test see if the behavour is the same after enabled remote management.

hi

i always use IP. It works within subnet. it always used to work within VPN.

remote management is off as I don't want access from "outside"

The reason I suggested trying with remote management enabled is that A while back I've seen something similar on an older model, where access to web management via VPN only worked after remote management is enabled. I wondered if you might have come across the same thing.

I've just upgraded to 3.3.4 and this problem and Syslog not working have both ween fixed. Hooray!

Now I can log in locally and across VPN's with "allow management from the internet turned off"

Syslog is now working for the first time in 18 months.
