2820 using 2 lines? was created by legal
Hi - we have a vpn run as a microsoft based pptp between 2 sites running 2820's to allow dial in to the main site. The main site is capable of adsl2+ Annex M ie 2400 upstream, while 2nd site is "only" capable of adsl2+ with 1100 upstream
For the vpn we need as fast a connection as possible & the upstream is as important as downstream for particular apps used. With the current config the remote site when linked can enjoy 2400 (in theory) downstream from the link to the mainsite but only gets 1100 upstream (the limit of it's u/s synch).
The 2820 has a facility for 2 adsl lines! If we instal a 2nd line at the remote site and set it for load balancing (or otherwise?) then when the vpn is activated will the pptp link benefit from the combined lines? ie will it- as well as still getting 2400 downstream (being the limit of the upstream at the main office) - then get 2200 upstream on the vpn (being 2 x the 1100 upstream synch speeds)? If this is possible, is there any significance on whether the 2 lines are with the same isp or not?
