Did you try \\vigor?

'vigor' is the default name for the attached USB on my 2820n - I imagine it's the same on your unit.

Sorry for the late update, but managed to get everything working and now am able to access my 500gb usb disk Transcend over the internet too using FTP only. Even internally there is no access to the disk using My Computer, you have to use a FTP client.
