Vigor 120 ADSL Modem & Vigor 2820 was created by olejnik_uk
I currently have a Vigor 2820Vn, and although a brilliant product, the modem part of the unit seems to sync at around 2megs less than my Dlink and netgrear modems and guess this is down the chipset used.
My question is, what is the difference between the Vigor 120 ADSL Modem and the modem part of the 2820Vn?
I am looking for a new modem to use on my Wan2 port - everyone raves about the 120 unit but if it uses the same board/chipset as the 2820's, then I won't bother.
Has anyone had any experience with the 120, and does it sync at the correct speeds compared to other products on the market?
Would be grateful for any feedback on this!
Many thanks

+1
I too have had significant problems with the modem in the 2820.
Is the Vigor 120 any different?

Recieved an email from Draytek support today, which stated:
'Vigor120 and Vigor2820 use different adsl chipsets.
The functions on adsl part are similar but not all same.
Vigor120 is the modem which only provides the adsl synchronization ability while Vigor2820 is the ultimate ADSL2/2+ router with many functions integrated.
Hope the information is useful for you.'
Not sure if I want to take the hit and buy one or wait until there is anymore feedback back from people who have tested this........?
