Vigor 2800 firmware failure was created by eacomtech
Hi All,
Ive recently unboxed and installed an unused 2800.
I ran the firmware update which has worked several times fine before and it appears to have destroyed the router.
it goes into a temporary normal mode when you reset but after a short time goes back to the ACT and QoS lights on constantly and it flashes intermittently the LAN lights.
Is there a way i can recover the router to load the firmware again?
Any advice gratefully received, Thanks, Ed

The ACT light is blinking and the QoS light goes out and comes back on randomly. The LAN lights all flash quickly and intermittantly similar to the quick test it does on boot.
From what your saying the hardware is the problem but as it only went on a firmware update im inclined to think there must be a way to recover it back.
The router was brand new boxed before i used it, just been on the shelf for a while so dont really want to write of £150 bit of hardware.

Holding the button whilst booting got the router into recovery mode an i sent the .rst firmware very quickly.
The router had referred back to is default ip 192.168.1.1 with no password. That recovered the router and is now usable!
