OWA ports required using 2820n was created by nelvon
I Have just setup a 2820n to connect to our new BT broadband line with a static IP.
We are using SBS2003 and ran VPN connections, Remote Web Workplace and Outlook Web Access thorugh our old Watchgaurd connection.
We used to just type in:
http://old_IP_address/exchange
http://old_IP_address/remote
to get either RWW and OWA respectively
I have enabled open ports using:
NAT >> Open Ports >> Edit Open Ports
And opened 443 (RDP), 4125 (RWW), 1723 (VPN) and 25 (SMTP)
All pointing at the SBS server IP.
Our e-mail and Blackberries work fine, but when I enter:
http://our_new_IP/remote
http://our_new_IP/exchange
I get a 404 Not Found!!! web page error for both
Can anyone tell me what I am missing?
Also should I open 8080 the HTTP protocol used by the server?
Thanks for your time

There are a couple of issues here:
1. You need not, indeed should not , allow any HTTP access to your SBS. Use secure HTTPS exclusively.
2. The 404 error is probably because you have remote management enabled for your 2820, so all http:// URLs are handled by it. Turn off remote management on your 2820 (or at least change the remote management ports used by it - I have found this flakey, though). You can so this via System Maintenance -> Management.

Thanks cocospm
turning off remote management solved the problem and we now have OWA and VPN and FTP.
I do see a need for remote management of the router though.
How would I accomplish this?
Thanks again

You could try enabling secure (https) remote management on a port other than 443, to see if that still allows RWW and OWA to pass through. As I said, though, my experience is that sometimes ends up interfering with 443 pass throuh on the 2820 - it might depend on which version of the 2820 firmware you have. I gave up on that a long time ago, and haven't tested it with the latest firmware. You could always RWW through to the SBS or a workstation and manage the 2820 from there. That's what I do.

Thanks for the tip.
Just tried RWW and then back to the Draytek - works fine.
With everything else working I will carry on with this setup.
Thanks again
