Vigor 2800VG and a HGV2700 was created by mbames
I am having some issues with my 2800VG where it keeps dropping sync on the line, and sometimes it even reboots.
SNR is around 10dB mark, and connection speed is 7616 kbps.
I am hoping to use a HGV2700 (BT Business Hub) in bridge mode and then route the traffic though Vigor, so that I can maintain my existing VPN capabilities, etc.
As the 2800VG does not have a wan2 socket (unlike the 2820), I'll have to plug the HGV2700 straight into one of the normal network ports on the back, but how do I go about getting Vigor to route my traffic for me?
Thanks,
Matt

To put it simply, without an ethernet WAN port, you cannot use the 2800 to route your traffic

If it's restarting, try out the 2.8.2.1 beta firmware from the UK site, with those linestats it shouldn't be dropping because of CRC errors.
That's one unfortunate limitation of the 2800 series as well, you can't set up an ethernet WAN on it.

The readme suggests the 2.8.2.1 beta firmware is just for Wifi issues?
I am going to see if I can borrow a cheapo-old netgear from a mate (as I sold my speedtouch a few months ago - ) and see if that has similar issues. The plan was to use the HGV, but the seller I got that from on ebay has sold me the wrong PSU!
Is the 2800 capable of supporting proper 24MB BB, or is likely to struggle? Sometimes the web interface feels rather laggy. Weymouth is likely to get a kick up the backside for internet due to the Olympics so maybe it could be an excuse to upgrade....
